| I'm in free jam but Jamstix just won't start playing! |
Check the Start/Stop checkbox in the control panel of the jam tab. If it is checked, you must press the Start/Stop key to start and end the jam. |
| I'm using Sonar and DirectiXer and I cannot see the Jamstix GUI! |
Open DirectiXer, go to the options for the Jamstix entry and check the box 'Alternate Window Sizing Method' |
| Jamstix is not playing when it should!
| Some possible reasons:
- If the Use Arrangement button is active in the tab, check if an ending exists in a prior bar. Jamstix does not play past an ending.
- If you are jamming, uncheck the Start/Stop button in the Jam tab.
- Check the gain sliders in the Console tab
- If you are audio-jamming and the velocity slider is all the way left while you are playing, check the red input LED and raise the audio trim
|
| I'm audio-jamming just fine but Jamstix drops the dynamic too much when I play quiet |
Read the 'Free Jam Quick Start' PDF in your Jamstix manual folder, which explains in detail how to use input trimming and input velocity mapping to achieve the proper velocity response for your play style and instrument |
| Jamstix is just playing too much! Can't I just get a straight rhythm without all these cymbals and fills? |
If you are free or keyword jamming, go to the jam tab and move the Accentuation,Cymbal Hits, and Fill Frequency sliders to the left. This will reduce accents, fills, and cymbals.
If you are in manual jam mode, go to the rhythm tab and move the snare accent, tom accent and cymbal sliders all the way left to achieve the same. |
| There is a bar in my song where Jamstix plays a snare (or tom) accent that I don't like. How can I change it? |
Go to the Arranger tab, click Reset Choices and then left-click on the bar you wish to change. Jamstix will now choose a different
snare or tom accent. Repeat this until you like the result. This also applies to cymbals hits, probable notes and other choices. |
| When the velocity goes down, Jamstix starts to drop snare and kick notes. What's up? |
This is called reduction and emulates the way many drummer simplify their drumming during quiet passages. You can toggle this feature in the jam tab control panel. |
| All of sudden Jamstix is playing really messy and weird! |
All of sudden Jamstix is playing really messy and weird!
First off, make sure you are using a low-latency ASIO driver. Furthermore, is Shuffle mode checked on the jam tab? Also, check the Timing Variance and Pocket settings on the same tab. |
| I'm using Sonar, just bought Jamstix and have problems loading it! |
Open the Cakewalk VST adapter and click 'Reset All' |
| I just bought Jamstix. It seems to work but I can't hear the internal sounds! The demo worked fine. |
Make sure you ran the sound setup (jamstix_data_setup.exe), which is separate from the plugin setup. Also, if you do not specify the same directory for both setups, the sample data will end up in a different place and Jamstix won't find it. If so, simply move the 'samples' folder into the Jamstix directory.
NOTE: As of Jamstix 1.8, we are now delivering the stock kits in RXP format, just like the expansion Paks. So instead of downloading and running jamstix_data_setup.exe, you will download RXP files to put into the 'addons' folder. |
| Jamstix crashes when launching. What's up? |
This is most likely caused by your DEP settings. Look here for the fix.
NOTE: Jamstix 1.8 and later are DEP-compatible and do not need this fix anymore. |
| I just bought Jamstix and when I enter my registration data it tells me it is invalid |
As stated in your electronic delivery, you do not need to enter your registration data manually. Instead, save the license file that is attached to your electronic delivery to the Jamstix folder on your system. Next time Jamstix starts, it will find this data and fill in the registration data for you.
